Product Introduction


Injection molding is a highly efficient and widely utilized plastics processing technique, primarily employed for the mass production of plastic parts with complex geometries and precise dimensions. The fundamental process involves feeding thermoplastic or thermosetting polymer granules into the injection molding machine's hopper, where they are heated, melted, and homogenized into a viscous fluid state through the combined action of heater bands and screw shear within the barrel. Subsequently, under high pressure, the screw propels the molten material rapidly into a closed mold cavity. Inside the mold, the material solidifies to achieve the desired shape and dimensional stability—either by cooling through a cooling system (for thermoplastics) or by heat-induced curing (for thermosets). Finally, the mold opens, and an ejection mechanism releases the finished part, completing one molding cycle. The core advantages of this process lie in its high production efficiency, excellent repeatability and precision, capability for full automation, and its ability to form intricate and detailed components. It is suitable for a vast range of products, from micro-gears to automotive bumpers. Key process parameters include melt temperature, injection pressure and speed, packing pressure and time, cooling time, and mold temperature. Precise control of these parameters directly influences the part's dimensional accuracy, mechanical properties, surface finish, and internal stress distribution. Modern injection molding has also evolved to include various advanced variants, such as gas-assisted injection molding for producing hollow thick-walled parts, two-shot (or multi-material) molding for products with multiple materials or colors, and micro-injection molding for miniature components. Despite requiring significant initial investment in mold tooling, its exceptionally low per-unit cost and superior consistency make it the preferred process for high-volume manufacturing. It finds extensive applications across industries including automotive, electronics, medical devices, consumer goods, and packaging.
